California — Cal/OSHA State Plan and Outreach Cards

California operates a State Plan under OSHA. Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations imposes duties that can exceed 29 CFR. An OSHA Outreach 10- or 30-hour card is evidence of federally structured awareness or supervisor training; it is not a Cal/OSHA license and does not waive Title 8 program, injury-illness prevention, or heat/silica rules.

State Plan vs. Outreach card

Cal/OSHA enforces Title 8. Federal OSHA Outreach 10- and 30-hour courses remain voluntary structured training aligned to 29 CFR 1926 or 1910. An Outreach card does not waive IIPP, heat illness, or silica rules.
